Match report The Saturday 1st XI finally got a deserved win under their belts with a convincing home win against Goring. Batting first, the visitors got off to a flyer and reached 40 quickly; however, the game turned with the introduction of Vignesh to the attack. Great bowling saw Goring collapse to 77 for 6, with Vignesh spinning his way to 4 for 17. But it wasn't over. Some lusty hitting and a bit of fortune saw the batting side put on an unbeaten 63 for the last wicket, finishing on 182 for 9. Turgis lost an early wicket in reply but it was one way traffic after that. A quick 40 from Dan Spence, another unbeaten 50 from Chris Butcher and a useful 47 from Sudha saw us home safely by 7 wickets. A game played in good spirit and hopefully the start of a winning run.
