Match report For the second week running, the 1st XI were edged out in a good game of cricket. Asked to bat first against Welford Park, Turgis posted a very competitive 238 for 7. Notable knocks came from Chris Butcher (76) and Manoj George (56). Chris passed 150 6s for the Club during the innings (so he tells us!). Unfortunately, the bowling and fielding couldn't match the batting this week. Catches were dropped at key moments and the team also suffered bad luck with not one but three players going down with injuries, hampering our efforts in the field. Coming in to the last few overs, the game was still in the balance but some lusty hitting saw Welford home with 2 overs to spare. A disappointing result but the team has again shown it can be very competitive in the Premier League.
