Match report Stratfield Turgis 2nds kept their faint promotion hopes alive with a convincing win against strugglers Newbury. Stratfield were put in by the West Berkshire side and found it hard going early on against a youthful attack. Only skipper Grant Strudley got to grips with the conditions scoring 43 out of a total of 130 for 9. Newbury’s response went wrong from the start when a running mix up cost them their first wicket. They never recovered with spinner Jamie Legg claiming 4 for 12 off of 12 overs. Newbury were shot out for just 30 giving Stratfield an easy 100 run win. Stratfield go into their final league game in 2 weeks time against league leaders West Reading knowing that a win could still mean promotion.
