Match report The 1st XI produced perhaps their best performance yet with an away win over league leaders Shinfield. Batting first, Turgis were initially struggling at 13 for 3; however, they were rescued by a superb century stand between Adam Brown (42) and Abhi Singh (62). Turgis ended 183 all out - a competitive total but by no means a winning one. The score looked a lot better after Shinfield lost early wickets. Turgis were well on top but Shinfield have not been unbeaten all season for nothing and they fought back well. Despite a few scares, we eventually got home by 24 runs. It was a good all round effort in the field but by far the pick of the bowlers (again!) was Tom Clay with 5 for 20 off of 10 overs. A great win in a top of the table clash, cementing our position in the 2nd promotion spot.
