Match report STHWCC maintained their 100% record with a hard-fought win against AWE Tadley.

Batting first, STHWCC got off to a slow start, being only 38 for 2 off 10 overs. But a 112 run partnership between Tom Millward (34) and Chris Butcher (74) helped get STHWCC to a respectable total.

AWE Tadley on the other hand got off to a flyer and were 36 for 0 off of 5 overs. But some tight bowling from Steve Brown (5-0-24-2) pulled the game back and Chris Butcher (5-0-24-3), Andre Robberts (5-0-40-2) and Tony Butcher (4-0-26-2) all took wickets at crucial times to keep on top of the AWE batting line up.

The final over was bowled by Chris Butcher with AWE needing 8 runs to win. It went down to the last ball, with AWE needing 3 to win and 2 for the draw - but with only one wicket remaining. As the ball went towards the long-off boundary, AWE took the first run and came back for the second, But, some smart fielding by Steve Brown saw Chris take their final wicket via a run out - meaning that STHWCC won by one run. A great finish to a great game.
