Match report Once again the skipper lost the toss, and we were put into bat. After Trevor's early departure Steve & Jimmy added 186 for the 2nd wicket before Jimmy was bowled for 62 when trying to force the pace. Clarkey carried his bat for 152 not out and our 238-4 was a good score.
IBIS lost 2 early wickets and found scoring difficult. At 58-4 (20 overs) we were in with a shout, but a stand of 90 for the 5th wicket ensured IBIS's survival, and in the last 10 overs they threw the bat to reach a reasonable score whilst never being in a winning position.
The role of the Draw in BCL matches is much debated, and under current rules we have to keep focused on getting wickets rather than bemoan the oppositions inability to score runs quickly!
